As far as I can remember I have always loved teaching. My passion for teaching and plant-based eating lead me to an opportunity to participate in the University of Florida Family Nutrition Program. The University of Florida Nutrition Program teaches families how to eat healthy on a budget.
Very soon after I became a vegan, I developed a strong desire to share what I was learning. It made perfect sense! I merged my passion for teaching with my passion for veganism!

I decided to go vegan after watching a video that exposed the truth about factory farming. I knew that I didn't want to consume animal products after that point, but I wasn't quite sure how to go about it. After watching a few more documentaries and tons of YouTube videos, I knew I had made the right choice. I decided that even if the animal had a grass fed,free range and cage free "humane" life, I couldn't justify taking it's life and consuming it when there are so many other options available. We don't need to eat, wear or use animal products of any kind to live.

Here are three great tips to eat healthy vegan food on a budget:
1. Plan your meals ahead of time. Plan meals like healthy stir fries, soups and stews. You will save a lot of money.
2. Buy in bulk. If it's a healthy vegan food that you know you like, go ahead and save money by getting it in bulk.
3. Cook once, twice or three times a week. Mean plan and make large batches of food so you always have meals ready and you can stay within your budget and be healthy.
